Drake has become the first artist in history to surpass 100 billion streams on Spotify, cementing his status as the undisputed king of the world's largest music streaming platform. Chart Data announced the milestone on X on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, confirming what fans had long suspected: no one in the streaming era comes close to the Canadian rapper's numbers.
Drake Reaches 100 Billion Spotify Streams
The 100 billion stream landmark is staggering in scope. Across his entire catalog of albums and singles, Drake averages 234,198,462 streams per song and 5,401,548,609 streams per album. Those figures reflect not just a handful of radio hits but sustained, global listening spread across more than a decade of releases.
His most-streamed track remains the 2016 smash "One Dance," featuring Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid and British singer Kyla, which has accumulated 3.2 billion streams. That song also holds a Guinness World Record: on 27 July 2016, it became the first track in Spotify history to surpass 1 billion streams, eclipsing Major Lazer and DJ Snake's "Lean On."
How Far Ahead Is Drake?
Drake's dominance becomes even clearer when placed in context. The second-highest streamed artist on Spotify at the time of the milestone, Taylor Swift, had approximately 84.4 billion streams — meaning Drake had already accumulated more than double the streams of many individual competitors. Chart Data noted that his total was more than double that of other prominent individual artists on the platform, underlining just how unshakeable his position remains.
A Record Built Over Years
The 100 billion figure spans Drake's entire discography — lead credits, features, and collaborations — reflecting consistent popularity since his breakthrough in the early 2010s. From "Hotline Bling" to "God's Plan" to "In My Feelings," his catalog has generated billions of plays across generations of listeners on the platform.
The milestone was confirmed and cross-validated by KWORB, a platform dedicated to tracking real-time streaming data across services, giving the announcement additional credibility beyond social media counts.
