Okay DIFC, we see you. Five new restaurants just opened in Dubai's financial district, and if your group chat isn't already planning where to eat this weekend, it's about to be.
Here's every new DIFC restaurant you need on your radar right now.
Barrafina Finally Touched Down From London
Barrafina, the tapas spot Soho has been obsessed with for years, just opened its first international location ever at Gate Village, DIFC. You sit right at the counter, watch the chefs work, and order the same croquetas, grilled prawns, and tortilla that made the original famous. The pan con tomate is already the dish everyone's ordering twice.
Open daily, noon to 11:30pm.
Hudson & Rye Brought New York Deli Culture To The UAE, First Time Ever
Hudson & Rye opens at DIFC Square on June 30, and it's officially the UAE's first proper New York-style deli. Founders Emma Zabinsky Csillag and Daniel Ross-Leutwyler said they spent months getting the recipes right, and it shows on paper: pastrami Reubens, tuna melts, cheeseburgers, potato pancakes, breakfast biscuit sandwiches, and New York cheesecake. They're already talking about ten UAE locations in the next five years, so get in early.
Open daily, Monday to Thursday 8am to 8pm, Friday to Sunday 8am to 9pm.
Siena Brought Paris Society Glamour To Gate Village
Siena, the Italian favorite from Paris Society, just opened at Gate Village 7. Lobster linguine, beef carpaccio, a signature rigatoni, and tiramisu are all on the menu. It's a business lunch spot by day and turns into a full scene by night with DJs and cocktails, basically the same setup that made the Paris original a celebrity magnet.
Open Tuesday to Thursday 7pm to 1am, Friday and Saturday 7pm to 2am, Sunday 7pm to 1am.
Zaza Brought Its Pizza Game To DIFC
Zaza, already a Dubai favorite for casual counter pizza, just opened a DIFC spot too. Same easy pizza-by-the-slice setup, same comfort-food sides, now way easier to get to on a lunch break.
Kurasu Brought Kyoto Coffee Culture Right To The Financial District
Kurasu, the specialty coffee brand out of Kyoto that first opened in Dubai at Dar Wasl Mall, just opened a second spot in DIFC. Think precision pour-overs, single-origin beans, and Japanese pastries in a low-key, minimal space. Kurasu already has a cult following in the city, and now that following gets a DIFC location too.
Why This Matters
DIFC has been turning into one of Dubai's biggest food destinations all year, and this new wave of openings just cements it. Counter pizza, deli sandwiches, Spanish tapas, Italian dinner, Kyoto coffee, it's all in one district now.
What To Expect
- Counter dining at Barrafina and Zaza
- Full breakfast and lunch at Hudson & Rye
- DJ sets and cocktails at Siena come nightfall
- Daily specialty coffee at Kurasu
