‘One Tree Hill’ Sequel Series in Development at Netflix

Netflix is returning the show called ‘One Tree Hill’ with a sequel show, which is under production at the moment. There are reports that the next continuation will introduce Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Daneel Ackles as the members of executive producers. This is also going to be under her Chaos Machine Productions where she’ll work with her husband Jensen Ackles. For the show-writing work, Becky Hartman, Edwards is engaged who will work on the series Firefly Lane and Parenthood and she will also be the executive producer. The original series was produced by Warner Bros. Television and they shall also be charged with the production of this sequel.

Bush and Burton are expected to return in their characters from the previous series while Ackles is also proposed to return for the show. It is still uncertain if others of the original cast will take part in the show at this time. Netflix and Warner Bros Television have yet to release a statement about the project.

The first series under the title ‘One Tree Hill’ was broadcasted in the WB network and then in the CW for nine seasons and follows the story of two half-brothers: Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) as well as their friends and family living in Tree Hill, North Carolina. The series was famous for the focus on such subjects as friendship, close relationships and family conflicts.

Burton, Bush and Lenz have all hosted the ‘One Tree Hill’-related podcast ‘Drama Queens’, but after six seasons, Burton left as her character did too. The third host is Robert Buckley who joined in the show in its seventh Season.

There is no participation of the creator of the original TV show “One Tree Hill” which is named as Mark Schwahn in “One Tree Hill” Sequel. It emerged that Schwahn was accused of assault and harassment by Burton and other cast members in the show in 2017, all of which has been covered on the podcast.
