Jaleo by José Andrés has permanently closed at Atlantis The Royal on Palm Jumeirah, with February 28, 2025 marking its final service in Dubai. The Spanish restaurant ran for two years and earned MICHELIN-Selected status in both 2023 and 2024 — a rare distinction for any Dubai dining room, let alone one in only its second year of operation.
Jaleo Dubai: What Made It Special
Jaleo brought a slice of authentic Spanish dining culture to The Palm, serving wood-fired paella, signature tapas, Galician seafood, and a curated selection of Spanish wines and sangria. The restaurant was helmed under the culinary vision of chef and humanitarian José Andrés, one of the most recognised names in global gastronomy.
Its Michelin-Selected recognition for two consecutive years cemented Jaleo's reputation as a must-visit restaurant in Dubai's competitive luxury dining scene.
The Closure Announcement
The restaurant announced its permanent Dubai closure through its official Instagram account, confirming that February 28, 2025 would be the last day of service at Atlantis The Royal. No specific reason was given for the closure.
Atlantis Dubai acknowledged the impact Jaleo had on its F&B portfolio, which spans more than 50 restaurants and bars across its two Dubai resorts.
José Andrés' Global Restaurant Empire
The Dubai closure does not diminish the reach of the José Andrés culinary empire. The chef continues to operate 31 restaurants worldwide, with Jaleo locations in Las Vegas and the Bahamas, among dozens of other concepts across the United States and beyond.
Dubai's Restaurant Scene Moves On
Dubai's dining landscape rarely stands still. Even as Jaleo closes, new concepts continue to launch across the city. Venues such as BeBabel and Hanu debuted in February 2025, adding fresh culinary experiences for residents and visitors.
Dubai's position as a global dining destination remains firmly intact, with new gourmet openings regularly replacing departing concepts and raising the bar for the region's food scene.
