Middle East aviation giant Air Arabia more than doubled in size today with the launch of direct Sharjah-Vienna flights as it increases its reach amid increased competition.
The first flight was complimented by two ground breaking ceremonies; the first was conducted at the Sharjah International Airport while the second was held at the Vienna International Airport to re-enforce Saj airlines’ strategic cooperation between the UAE and Austria. The event was graced by such personalities as the Austrian Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Etienne Berchtold, and other Air Arabia’s officials.
Sharjah Airport Authority was represented by Ali Salim Al Midfa, the Chairman, who participated in the celebrations in Sharjah, while responding to the first passengers were employees of the Vienna International Airport. key message of the event was the increasing significance of the route to bolster tourism and business links between the two shores.
