A direct Sharjah to Muscat bus service is now operating between Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah and Muscat International Airport, giving eligible travellers an alternative route to connect with onward flights during the UAE airspace disruption. The service has been arranged by Oman Air and SalamAir, with buses operated by Muwasalat.
Departure Point and Schedule
Buses depart from Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah and travel directly to Muscat International Airport.
The service runs from March 3 to March 5, 2026, during the following time windows:
- 9am to 5pm - 8pm to 10:30pm
Passengers must arrive at the bus station at least 30 minutes before departure.
Who Can Use the Sharjah–Muscat Bus?
The transfer is available only to travellers who are eligible for visa on arrival in Oman. Around 100 nationalities qualify, but all passengers should confirm their eligibility via Oman's official eVisa portal before booking.
Those not eligible for visa on arrival must arrange an Oman visa in advance, which can take 24 to 48 hours to process.
A confirmed onward flight from Muscat with Oman Air or SalamAir is mandatory to use this transfer service.
Booking and Cost
All tickets must be purchased in advance — no tickets will be sold at Al Jubail Bus Station on the day of travel.
Bookings can be made directly through the airlines or via authorised travel agencies, including Musafir.com and Sharjah National Travel and Tourist Agency (SNTTA).
The fare for the Sharjah to Muscat bus transfer is 50 OMR.
Passengers are advised to contact their respective airline for the latest eligibility confirmation and booking assistance.
