Dubai Future Foundation Funds 24 Research Projects to Drive Innovation

The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) committed financial resources to support 24 examination projects from 13 higher learning facilities to make Dubai a global leader in transformative technological innovation. The Dubai Research Development Innovation (RDI) Grant launched its initiative in September 2024 based on directives given by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who serves as the Crown Prince of Dubai.

The initiative focuses on AI advancement while supporting healthcare research and building smart cities throughout Dubai.
The evaluation committee picked projects among 374 submissions which originated from 41 universities and research institutes. This initiative promotes research into cognitive cities as well as the fields of AI and health sciences and robotics to structure the limits of modern advancements.

Khalifa Al Qama as the Executive Director of Dubai Future Labs explained how Dubai drives research empowerment to build an economy based on future knowledge.

These are the research projects along with participating universities from the multitude of 41 institutions which submitted 374 proposals.
Various research fields receive funding which includes Alzheimer’s diagnosis through artificial intelligence and automated electric cars together with supply chain enhancements.

✅ University of Wollongong in Dubai – AI in electric vehicle sustainability
✅ Middlesex University Dubai – AI-driven supply chain solutions
✅ Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Zayed University, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai, and others

Through this initiative Dubai demonstrates its commitment to advancing scientific discovery by establishing a leading position among world technology leaders. Academic researchers devoted their efforts to creating practical solutions which will influence healthcare and sustainability advances and automated industry development.

As Dubai dedicates additional funds to research and innovation it will establish itself as a global leader in transformative science and technology.
