Abu Dhabi: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will pay a state visit to China on Thursday, 30 May, following an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping, the UAE state news agency WAM reported.
Talks to Strengthen UAE-China Relations
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed will hold meetings with President Xi Jinping, where the two leaders are expected to discuss the existing relations between the UAE and China and the prospects of partnership between the two countries across economic development, culture, and other areas.
The visit is taking place in the context of the Developing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the UAE and China — a framework designed to facilitate each country's development and economic goals.
40th Anniversary of UAE-China Diplomatic Ties
Beyond the bilateral closed talks, Sheikh Mohamed will take part in events related to the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and China. The milestone underscores the depth of the two nations' long-standing ties across trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.
He will also attend the 10th Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, further cementing the UAE's role as a key bridge between the Arab world and China.
Regional and International Issues on the Agenda
The meetings between the UAE and Chinese presidents will also address issues at the regional and international level that are of common interest to both nations. The leaders share a commitment to strengthening dialogue and cooperation in order to uphold international peace and order.
