The Dubai AI & Web3 Festival 2024 officially launched on September 11 at Madinat Jumeirah, marking Dubai's most ambitious showcase yet of artificial intelligence and decentralised technology. Organised by the Dubai AI Campus — an initiative of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) — the two-day event rallied 6,000 participants from over 100 countries, alongside 500 investors and 100 exhibitors.

A Festival Built Around Sheikh Mohammed's Digital Vision

The event directly supports His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's goal of positioning Dubai as a global leader in the digital economy. It also advances the UAE's broader strategy of embedding AI across every major sector — from finance and government services to healthcare and logistics.

"Dubai continues to recognise the importance of innovation to cement its reputation as one of the world's leading technology hubs," said His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC.

Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, underlined why Dubai has become the destination of choice for the global AI community: "The high levels of interest in both the Dubai AI & Web3 Festival and the Dubai AI Campus shows how the AI community is turning to Dubai to set the standard."

Future Tech Talks: Industry Leaders on AI's Global Impact

A centrepiece of the festival is the Future Tech Talks programme — a series of keynotes and panel discussions featuring industrialists, investors, and policymakers. Sessions span the AI and global economy, the dynamics of generative AI, and the relevance of AI across public and private sectors.

More than 20 unicorn companies — including Builder.ai, Cohesity, Cerebras Systems, Innovaccer, and SambaNova Systems — are participating alongside at least 20 ministries, government agencies, and leading venture capital firms.

FutureTech World Cup: A Stage for Global Startups

The Dubai AI & Web3 Festival also features the FutureTech World Cup, a high-profile startup pitch competition co-launched with Trescon. Six finalists are competing — Momint, Nettle a.r.o., Nash fintechX, Orbii.ai, PLATMA, and Secure Blink — vying for a package that includes the coveted Dubai AI Licence, mentorship from top industry leaders, global market exposure, and strategic partnerships.

The competition reflects Dubai's intent to attract and nurture the world's most promising AI and Web3 ventures, giving them a launchpad in one of the fastest-growing tech ecosystems on the planet.
