Dubai convened its annual Majlis forum on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, to review progress on the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 — the emirate's flagship strategy to double the size of its economy and secure a place among the world's three largest economic centers.

The gathering was organized jointly by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Chambers, and was hosted at Qasr Al Bahr. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, presided over the event.
The forum brought together more than 200 participants, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, international investors, and senior government officials. Discussions were organized around sector-specific and thematic dialogues, exploring new partnership models and strategies to accelerate capital deployment in priority economic sectors.

Speaking at the Majlis, Sheikh Hamdan pointed to Dubai's standing as a global economic capital — a position built on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
"He leads us to work hard towards ensuring that we provide the necessary support towards attainment of sustainable economic growth and ensure utilization of all the available resources in order to continue pushing the competitiveness of the city to higher levels," Sheikh Hamdan said.

The Dubai Economic Agenda D33 is a strategic framework with two headline targets: doubling the size of Dubai's economy within a decade, and positioning the emirate as one of the three largest urban economic powers in the world.
The 2024 Majlis focused specifically on defining new partnership solutions and advancing the execution of D33 initiatives across key industries. Discussions covered emerging market opportunities, economic policy directions, and the latest D33 agenda tracks.

Prominent figures at the forum included Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of the Department of Economy and Tourism.
