The Dubai Media Council has opened registration for the second edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students, following directives from H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The scholarship offers eligible Emirati youth a fully funded pathway into one of the UAE's most prominent media programmes.
What the Scholarship Covers
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students provides a full scholarship for enrolment at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication at the American University in Dubai (AUD). Recipients gain access to a world-class communications curriculum designed to launch careers in the UAE's fast-evolving media industry.
The programme is aimed at Emirati students who aspire to work in media and who meet the academic eligibility criteria. Graduates of the programme are positioned to enter the sector as skilled national professionals.
Why It Matters for UAE Media Development
Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council, outlined the strategic importance of the initiative: "One of the most important missions of the Council is the promotion of the new generation of highly qualified Emirati media professionals, and the support of young talents to become leaders of media in the country."
Al Marri emphasised the need to innovate in applying new advances in media technology in order to develop content and increase the extent of influence. She added that enhancing academic performance and expanding professional training opportunities would give young media talent the tools to contribute meaningfully to the sector.
The scholarship directly supports Dubai's broader vision of becoming a leading global media hub, increasing national participation in a sector that has grown significantly in recent years.
