February 2026 is filling up fast for educators across the region, and one weekend stands out. On February 14 and 15, the 5th Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education takes place at the Sharjah Education Academy in University City. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the summit is organized by the Sharjah Education Academy in partnership with the Sharjah Private Education Authority. The venue sits a short distance from Dubai, keeping the event firmly within reach for both regional and international participants.
What the 2026 Theme Focuses On
This year's theme is Collaborating for Impact, with the overarching goal of Inspiring Collective Action to Transform Education. The idea centers on educators, researchers, policymakers, families, and communities working with deliberate intent rather than in isolation. Discussion spans early childhood education, schools, higher education, and lifelong learning — with attention kept firmly on practical decisions made inside real classrooms and institutions.
Three Tracks Framing the Conversations
The program follows three tracks that guide all sessions and discussions across the two days.
Strengthening Connections for Effective Collaboration examines how educators and partners work together across roles. Sessions address coordination between schools, families, researchers, and policymakers, with emphasis on continuity in learning experiences.
Innovations in Learning centers on present-day teaching practices, artificial intelligence, digital tools, and assessment approaches. Sessions examine how instruction and evaluation can adapt to current demands without drifting into theory-only territory.
Inclusion and Empowerment addresses policies and practices related to equitable access. The track focuses on participation and opportunity for diverse learner groups, including communities that face barriers within education systems.
Session Formats and Participation
Participants take part in masterclasses, panel discussions, workshops, and symposia. A featured format is the Practitioner Pod — a 45-minute interactive session led by practitioners with direct classroom or institutional experience. Poster presentations provide space for visual data, research findings, and focused insights. These formats support genuine exchange without academic distance.
Presenter Submissions and Review Timeline
The summit follows a defined submission schedule. The call for proposals opened on August 1, 2025. Submissions closed on October 26, 2025, with acceptance notifications scheduled for November 16, 2025.
Proposals may be submitted in English or Arabic and must be anonymized for blind peer review. Reviewers assess submissions on a scale of 1 to 5 across audience appeal, innovation, methodology rigor, potential for impact, and relevance to Sharjah and the wider MENA region.
Partners Supporting the Summit
The summit receives support from principal sponsors including Invest Bank and Sharjah Media City (Shams). These partnerships support access to tools, sessions, and discussions focused on current education priorities.
With a defined theme, three structured tracks, and a clear participation process, the 5th Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education places mid-February firmly on the UAE education calendar. Hosted at the Sharjah Education Academy and just a short drive from Dubai, the summit offers two focused days for educators, leaders, and researchers thinking about what comes next.
