Dubai is set to once again take centre stage in the global creator economy as Will Smith and MrBeast headline the 1 Billion Followers Summit Dubai 2026 this January. The high-profile event runs from January 9 to 11, 2026, bringing together more than 15,000 content creators, digital leaders, and industry experts from around the world.
Oscar-winning actor Will Smith, global YouTube sensation MrBeast, former England footballer Rio Ferdinand, and Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties, are among the headline speakers. The summit will also feature political figure Lara Trump and comedian Max Amini, rounding out a diverse lineup that spans entertainment, business, media, and social impact.
Dubai Hosts the Future of the Creator Economy
Now in its fifth edition, the 1 Billion Followers Summit is expected to be the largest gathering of its kind yet. The event will feature over 500 speakers and 580 sessions, with participation from major digital platforms including YouTube, X, Meta, TikTok, and Snapchat. Chief executives, platform leaders, and content strategists will join creators to discuss the future of digital influence, monetisation, and innovation.
Saeed Al Eter, Head of the UAE Government Media Office, highlighted the rapid growth of the sector. He noted that while speakers at the first summit collectively had one billion followers, today's lineup represents more than 3.5 billion followers worldwide. With an estimated 200 million content creators globally — nearly half working full time — the industry continues to expand at record pace.
Social Impact, AI Filmmaking, and Global Collaboration
A key focus of this year's summit is humanitarian and social impact content, developed in collaboration with MrBeast, known globally for large-scale charity-driven projects. Organisers revealed that a recent initiative inspired more than 170,000 humanitarian and community-focused videos, generating over 100 million views in just three weeks.
The 1 Billion Followers Summit Dubai 2026 will also spotlight innovation in filmmaking, announcing the winner of an award for films created using artificial intelligence tools. More than 30,000 AI-generated films from 116 countries were submitted, with five finalists to be revealed at the event.
Iconic Dubai Venues Across Three Landmarks
The summit will be held across three landmark Dubai locations: Emirates Towers, the Museum of the Future, and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Together, they reflect the UAE's ambition to remain a global hub for digital media, creativity, and next-generation economies.
As Dubai continues to attract the world's most influential voices, the summit reinforces the city's growing role at the heart of the global creator movement.
