Dubai rock fans have a major night to look forward to this November. "From The Oyster Comes The Pearl" brings four iconic rock and punk bands to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Garhoud on Saturday, November 23, 2024 — and headlining the bill are The Mission, making their long-awaited Dubai debut.
The Mission: A Landmark Dubai Show
The Mission need little introduction to rock fans. Founded in 1986, the gothic rock legends built their reputation on anthems like "Wasteland," "Butterfly on a Wheel," and "Tower of Strength." The November 23 show carries extra weight: it will be The Mission's last concert of 2024 before the band retreats to the studio to write and record a new album, expected for release in early 2026 — marking their 40th anniversary as a band.
A Rock Lineup Worth Travelling For
Sharing the stage with The Mission is an equally formidable supporting cast.
The Chameleons are British guitar-rock pioneers whose atmospheric, effects-driven sound was a cornerstone of the post-punk era. Claytown Troupe bring alternative rock energy, known for tracks including "Ways of Love" and "Wanted It All." Rounding out the evening is IST IST, the Manchester post-punk outfit who will be making their Dubai debut on the night.
