Comedy shows in Dubai are stacking up this autumn, with some of the biggest names in international stand-up descending on the city's top venues from September through November 2024. Whether you're into sharp British wit, viral YouTube comedy, or Bollywood-flavoured laughs, there's a show with your name on it.
September: The Laughter Factory Kicks Off the Season
The Laughter Factory gets things started from 20–28 September, bringing Canadian comedian Kate Barron, UK circuit favourite Farhan Solo, and local crowd-pleaser Maher Barwany to venues across Dubai. It's the perfect warm-up for the packed autumn calendar ahead.
October: The Biggest Month for Comedy in Dubai
October is where the season hits full stride.
Joanna Lumley opens the month on 6 October at Dubai Opera with her show Me and My Travels, sharing stories from nearly five decades in showbiz. On the same evening, British-Indian comedian Paul Chowdhry also takes the stage at Dubai Opera for his stand-up showcase. The following night — 7 October — viral sensation Nigel Ng, better known as Uncle Roger, performs his HAIYAA World Tour at the same venue.
Indian comedian Gaurav Gupta heads to Dubai College on 12 October for an evening of his signature observational humour, entirely in Hindi. Then on 18 October, rising Irish-Italian star Vittorio Angelone performs at Theatre by QE2. Irish comedy legend Ardal O'Hanlon — beloved as Father Ted's Dougal and as a star of Death in Paradise — brings his worldwide tour The Showing Off Must Go On to Theatre by QE2 on 19 October.
The month closes with a headline act: Romesh Ranganathan makes his Dubai debut on 25 October at Coca-Cola Arena, bringing The Hustle tour to the city's biggest indoor stage.
November: Indian Comedy Takes Centre Stage
The laughs keep coming in November. Jake Lambert — described by The Telegraph as "a joke machine" and a Michael McIntyre support act — performs at Theatre by QE2 on 9 November. The following night, Gaurav Kapoor takes the stage at Emirates Theatre on 10 November as part of the Colors Laughter Nights series.
Closing out the season, Kanan Gill — nominated for Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2024 — performs What Is This? at Emirates Theatre on 30 November.
