The second edition of Ukrainian Nights took over Dubai on May 21, 2026, at Harbor by Samakje in Nakheel Mall, Palm Jumeirah, drawing the UAE's Ukrainian community together for a Vyshyvanka Day celebration. The night blended live performances, traditional embroidered fashion, karaoke, and cultural moments that ran late into the evening.
Founded by Alina Bashkina, Ukrainian Nights continued building its reputation in Dubai's nightlife and cultural scene as guests arrived in vyshyvankas styled in both modern and traditional ways. The evening centered on Ukrainian music, familiar traditions, and community gatherings that gave attendees living in the UAE a chance to reconnect with home.
Vyshyvanka Day Took Center Stage in Dubai
Vyshyvanka Day remains one of the most recognized celebrations of Ukrainian culture, with traditional embroidered clothing carrying regional patterns and family history across generations. At Ukrainian Nights, guests embraced the dress code with detailed embroidered dresses, shirts, and modern takes on classic Ukrainian fashion.
One of the biggest visual highlights came from the floral photo zone created by Life in Bloom Dubai, where guests gathered throughout the night for photos and videos. The venue at Harbor by Samakje gave the celebration a premium Palm Jumeirah nightlife setting that matched the mood of the evening.
Alina Bashkina Led the Night With Live Ukrainian Music
Singer and Ukrainian Nights founder Alina Bashkina curated the atmosphere with a live performance that included her original song "Trymai Mene" alongside popular Ukrainian hits the audience sang together. For the set, Bashkina wore a symbolic vyshyvanka featuring embroidery tied to her grandmother's tradition, adding a personal cultural detail to the night.
Speaking during the event, Bashkina shared the purpose behind Ukrainian Nights.
"The idea behind Ukrainian Nights is to unite the Ukrainian community and create a place where people can feel at home. Favorite music, tastes that remind us of home, a relaxed atmosphere, new connections, and meetings with close friends, this is what Ukrainian Nights is about. Ukrainian culture, language, and familiar faces become a true oasis of home in the UAE," she said.
Chervona Kalyna and ALLEXA BASH Led Crowd Singalongs
Another major moment came from the group Chervona Kalyna, featuring Natali Stradomska, Anna Komar, Olga Bondarenko, and Kristiana Novikova. Guests joined the performers in singing the Ukrainian song "Kozatskomu rodu nema perevodu," creating one of the biggest crowd moments of the night.
ALLEXA BASH also performed, presenting the Ukrainian classic "Dva Kolory" together with her track "Hurricane." Throughout the evening, MC Marsel hosted interactive contests and quizzes dedicated to Vyshyvanka Day, inviting guests to introduce themselves and share which regions of Ukraine they came from. Later in the night, DJ ARKOV kept the celebration going with dancing and karaoke sessions that ran until late.
Why Ukrainian Nights Matters in Dubai
Dubai remains home to a large international population, and cultural events continue to play a major role in helping communities stay connected to language, music, traditions, and social life while living abroad. Ukrainian Nights has quickly become one of the recognizable Ukrainian-led community events in the city, offering a familiar social space built around live entertainment and cultural celebration.
Organizers shared that they hope Ukrainian Nights continues as an ongoing tradition for the Ukrainian community in the UAE, bringing friends together through music, conversation, and shared cultural experiences.
