Part of the allure of TATEL Dubai — which swung open its doors in the bustling Downtown Dubai district — is the combination of celebrity endorsement and refined Spanish gastronomy. The restaurant was launched under the backing of tennis star Rafael Nadal, football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, and basketball player Pau Gasol, and is located at Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection (formerly VIDA Downtown Dubai). TATEL first opened in Madrid in 2014 and has since expanded to Ibiza, Beverly Hills, Riyadh, and now Dubai.
A Spanish Menu with Mediterranean Depth
TATEL Dubai offers an extensive Spanish menu with a fusion of international flavours, complemented by live performances throughout the week. Starters include carpaccio de atún rojo, ensaladilla con gambas, and freshly shucked oysters.
Signature main courses include La Milanesa de TATEL — garnished with sous vide egg and grated black truffle — and arroz con costilla de vacuno, slow-cooked beef ribs served with paellized rice. The menu also features risotto con trufa and elevated Spanish omelettes with truffle.
No visit is complete without ordering the torrija: a magnificent, theatrically presented dessert served tableside with pyrotechnic flair.
Prohibition-Era Ambiance and Live Entertainment
TATEL Dubai channels the spirit of 1920s American speakeasies in its design. The space features a prohibition-style bar area, an open-kitchen dining section, private dining areas, and a garden terrace — ideal for cooler evenings. Live music takes the stage on weekends, while resident and guest DJs perform throughout the rest of the week.
Totó Is Coming Next Door
Adjacent to TATEL, a sister restaurant called Totó is set to open soon in Downtown Dubai. Totó presents Italian gastronomy — signature pasta, wood-fired pizza, and an extensive wine list — centred around a piano and live music, with interiors inspired by the 1950s Italian cinema of Cinema Paradiso.
Totó first opened in Madrid in 2021 and will be the concept's first international outpost. No specific opening date for the Dubai location has been announced.
