Uptown Dubai Plaza is officially open, and this is a serious statement from DMCC. The new public venue, known as The Plaza, is now live at the centre of Uptown Dubai — adding a 21,000 square metre open-air events space to the district's next phase of growth. Its first activation, the Moonlight Market Ramadan night market, launched the same day and ran through 20 March 2026.
This opening marks a key moment for Uptown Dubai, the mixed-use development led by DMCC. With commercial towers, residences, hospitality, and retail already active in the area, The Plaza introduces a large-scale outdoor venue designed for concerts, festivals, corporate gatherings, and major public programming.
What Is Uptown Dubai Plaza
The Plaza spans 21,000 square metres and sits next to Uptown Tower, the landmark skyscraper that anchors the district. Developed by DMCC as a purpose-built open-air venue, it can host up to 4,000 guests and comes equipped with a sculptural stage, a record-breaking 43-metre HD screen, expansive green lawns, and layered terraces.
The 43-metre screen supports digital art displays, fan zones, and cinematic experiences. Premium sound, integrated lighting, and flexible layout configurations mean event organisers can reconfigure the space for everything from gala dinners and concerts to conferences and seasonal activations.
The Plaza also integrates with pedestrian routes throughout Uptown Dubai, creating a central outdoor meeting point for residents, visitors, and companies operating in the district.
DMCC Expansion at Uptown Dubai
The launch of Uptown Dubai Plaza forms part of DMCC's broader district expansion strategy. DMCC — the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre — oversees one of the largest free zones in the region and is the master developer of Uptown Dubai.
Uptown Tower, which includes Grade A office space, branded residences, and the SO Uptown Dubai hotel, established the district's initial phase. With The Plaza now open, DMCC continues advancing additional commercial and retail components within the area.

DMCC appointed 7 Management as operator of The Plaza, with the firm responsible for programming across concerts, festivals, corporate events, and cultural activations throughout the year.

The Plaza expands Dubai's portfolio of major event venues. Its open-air format and central location within Uptown Dubai position it as a dedicated space for large-scale concerts, festivals, and corporate activations.
Situated near Sheikh Zayed Road and key residential and commercial zones, the venue adds significant new programming capacity to Dubai's events calendar. For companies within DMCC's free zone, as well as residents in surrounding communities, The Plaza provides a new public gathering space embedded within a rapidly expanding urban environment.
