The second edition of the Binous Classic Bodybuilding Championship is set to return to Dubai, with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) hosting the high-stakes contest on September 7 and 8, 2024. Billed as the world's most expensive bodybuilding championship, the event features a record AED 1.2 million total prize pool — the highest for any championship in its category globally.
Record Prize Pool Puts Dubai on the Bodybuilding Map
The Binous Classic Championship will draw 700 male and female bodybuilders from across the world to compete for cash prizes totalling AED 1.2 million. No other bodybuilding championship of its kind offers a prize fund of comparable size, cementing Dubai's reputation as a premier destination for elite sporting events.
The Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (EBFF) and Binous Gym unveiled the full details of the two-day event at a press conference held at the Dubai Sports Council. Among the attendees were Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Federation; Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council; and Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar, Executive Vice President at DWTC.
Sheikh Abdullah: "Athletes from Around the World Will Witness True Sportsmanship"
Sheikh Abdullah Al Sharqi underscored the championship's significance:
> "The Binous Classic Championship is one of the most important championships organised by the Federation, considering the fact that Binous Gym is our strategic partner. This event will gather athletes, fitness enthusiasts and viewers from around the world who will witness the passion, hard work, talent and sportsmanship showcased by all contenders."
He added that the championship demonstrates Dubai's world-class capacity to host international sporting events at the highest level.
Sports Exhibition to Run Alongside the Competition
A dedicated sports exhibition will be held in parallel with the bodybuilding competition, offering attendees a showcase of the latest trends, products and innovations in the global fitness industry. The dual-format event — competition plus exhibition — is designed to attract both hardcore fitness professionals and a broader mainstream audience.
Dubai Cements Its Status as a Global Sports Hub
Dubbed the world's costliest bodybuilding event, the Binous Classic Championship reinforces Dubai's standing as a destination of choice for international sporting spectacles. The event also provides a significant boost to the region's rapidly expanding fitness and wellness economy.
The championship is backed by the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, with Binous Gym serving as the strategic partner for the second consecutive year.
