The UAE shooting team has been formally confirmed in the national Paralympic delegation for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which run from 28 August to 8 September. It is one of the most anticipated editions of the Games, hosting 4,400 athletes across 23 sports — and the UAE will be among them with 14 athletes competing in shooting, athletics, weightlifting, judo, and cycling.
UAE Shooting Squad for Paris 2024
The five-member UAE para-shooting team heading to Paris consists of Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani, Saif Al Nuaimi, Obaid Al Dahmani, Aisha Al Shamsi, and Aisha Al Muhairi. Before competing, the squad will complete their final training block at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre in central France, wrapping up preparations on 31 August.
Chateauroux is the dedicated venue for Paralympic shooting at Paris 2024, located in the heart of France and regarded as one of the finest shooting facilities in Europe.
Al Aryani Targets Third Paralympic Gold
The standout name in the UAE squad is Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani, who enters Paris as a five-time Paralympian with an exceptional medal record. He claimed gold at London 2012 and again at Tokyo 2020, cementing his status as one of the UAE's greatest Paralympic athletes.
Coach Mohammed Hussein voiced his belief in the squad ahead of the Games, saying he was "optimistic that the team would secure podium finishes." With Al Aryani's experience and the supporting cast around him, UAE shooting goes to Paris with genuine medal ambitions.
UAE's Paris 2024 Paralympic Campaign
The broader UAE delegation of 14 athletes represents the country's continued growth as a Paralympic nation. The Paris campaign carries high expectations, and the shooting contingent — backed by the team's thorough preparations in Chateauroux — is central to those hopes.
For a squad that has delivered at consecutive Games, Paris 2024 is another opportunity for the UAE to demonstrate its standing on the world Paralympic stage.
