Wizz Air is set to launch direct daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Milan, great news for UAE residents looking to visit Italy's fashion capital affordably. Daily services from Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Milan Malpensa (MXP) begin on June 2, 2025, with fares starting at just Dhs429. The launch date falls on Italy's Republic Day — Festa della Repubblica — adding a celebratory note to the new connection.
Abu Dhabi-Milan Route on the Airbus A321XLR
Wizz Air will deploy the brand-new Airbus A321XLR on its Abu Dhabi Milan flights. The aircraft is selected specifically for its fuel efficiency and sustainability, reflecting growing passenger demand for environmentally responsible travel. The A321XLR's extended range makes it well suited for long-haul, low-cost operations — and the Abu Dhabi–Milan route will be among the longest services Wizz Air operates globally.
The airline's move adds a significant destination to its Abu Dhabi network, capitalising on high demand for direct flights between the Middle East and Europe.
More UAE Routes in Wizz Air's Expansion
Beyond the Milan route, Wizz Air has also announced new services from the UAE to Chisinau, Moldova's capital, and to Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Both routes are set to begin in October 2024, with three weekly flights to Chisinau and two weekly flights to Cluj-Napoca. These additions further broaden travel options for passengers flying out of the UAE.
The expansion underscores Wizz Air's commitment to growing its Abu Dhabi base and linking UAE travellers to more European destinations at ultra-low-cost fares.
