The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of Abu Dhabi has announced the public transport schedule for the Hijri New Year 1447 holiday, which falls on Friday, June 27, 2025. All Customer Happiness Centres across the emirate will be closed on that day and will reopen on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Abu Dhabi Bus Timings for Hijri New Year 1447
Government bus services in Abu Dhabi will operate on their standard weekend and public holiday timetable throughout the Islamic New Year holiday. The ITC also confirmed that additional trips will be added on regional and intercity routes to handle the expected rise in passenger demand.
Two key services have adjusted operating hours for the day:
- Abu Dhabi Link will run from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM - Abu Dhabi Express will operate extended hours from 6:00 AM to midnight
Residents planning travel on June 27 are encouraged to check live schedules via the Darbi mobile app or Google Maps before heading out.
Digital Services Available During the Holiday
Although physical Customer Happiness Centres will be shut, the ITC confirmed that all essential transport services remain accessible online and by phone throughout the closure:
- Official website: admobility.gov.ae - Darbi mobile application — route planning and ticketing - TAMM government portal — broader government services - ITC Support Centre: 800850 (available 24/7) - Taxi Service Call Centre: 600535353 (available 24/7)
The Taxi Service Call Centre operates around the clock, so residents can book a taxi at any time during the holiday period.
Why Centres Are Closed
The Hijri New Year marks the first day of the Islamic lunar year 1447. As a federal public holiday in the UAE, government offices and service centres across all emirates observe the closure. Abu Dhabi's ITC reiterated that the shift to digital channels is designed to ensure continuity of service despite the physical closures.
The authority urged residents to plan ahead, use public transport where possible, and take advantage of digital platforms to avoid any service disruptions during the holiday.
