After years in development, Daniel's Room at Dubai Mall is officially open — and it is unlike anything else in the city. Located on Fashion Avenue (2nd Floor), the space is artist Daniel Arsham's first-ever hospitality concept, translating his globally recognised visual identity into an immersive environment where guests can dine, collect, and experience contemporary art firsthand.
What Is Daniel's Room at Dubai Mall?
Daniel's Room is more than a cafe. Developed in partnership with Cura Concepts, the destination was designed entirely by Arsham — from the furniture and lighting to the plates, glasses, and spoons. Every surface and object reflects his signature aesthetic: precise, tactile, and charged with cultural memory.
The menu centres on specialty coffee, pastries, cakes, and light bites, with Arsham personally involved in developing and testing each item. Alongside the food, the space stocks limited-edition books, collectible objects, and custom-designed tableware created exclusively for Daniel's Room and unavailable anywhere else in the world.
Daniel Arsham: The Artist Behind the Concept
Born on 8 September 1980, Daniel Lambert Arsham is an American visual artist who lives and works in New York City. He rose to international prominence for his signature "fictional archaeology" style — a body of work where modern objects appear eroded, crystallised, or frozen in time, as though unearthed from a distant future.
His practice spans sculpture, architecture, drawing, and film, and has extended into collaborations across fashion, design, and now hospitality. Daniel's Room continues this philosophy, translating Arsham's visual language into a physical space where craftsmanship and storytelling take centre stage.
Opening Night: Arsham Signs Books at Dubai Mall
To mark the opening on Sunday, January 25, 2026, Daniel Arsham was present in person from 5 PM, signing books and greeting guests. The event drew art lovers, collectors, and members of Dubai's creative community, making it one of the most anticipated cultural openings of the season.

With Daniel's Room now open, Dubai Mall adds another landmark creative concept to the city's growing lifestyle scene. The space is designed as a place to linger — to sit inside what is, in effect, a lived-in artwork — and to return to.
