Dubai Festival City Mall has unveiled Dinosaurs: The Immersive Odyssey, a multi-sensory prehistoric experience that takes families through VR headsets, life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and hands-on discovery zones. Developed by ActiveMe in collaboration with Fever, the attraction opened in March 2026 and sits on Level 2 at the mall's North Entrance.
A Journey from Fossils to Full Immersion
The experience begins inside a themed zone styled as an underground fossil museum, where visitors explore displays of ancient bones and scientific exhibits. As the journey progresses, the atmosphere shifts from quiet discovery to a dynamic environment filled with movement, sound and large-scale visuals, gradually building a sense of immersion.
Each section transitions seamlessly, combining storytelling with interactive elements to keep both children and adults engaged throughout.
Step Into the Jurassic World with VR
One of the main highlights is the VR Odyssey, where visitors put on headsets and are transported into a fully immersive prehistoric landscape. Inside the virtual world, dinosaurs roam freely while a guided experience explains how these creatures lived, moved and survived. The segment combines education with cinematic visuals, making it both engaging and informative.
The VR arena is open to visitors aged six and above. Children aged four and five can still enjoy all other zones within the attraction.
From Virtual to Real-Life Dinosaurs
After the VR segment, the experience moves into a virtual-to-reality zone, where life-sized animatronic dinosaurs come to life. These moving and roaring creatures create a realistic environment, allowing visitors to feel as though they are standing among dinosaurs rather than simply observing them.
Interactive Fun for Families
The final section features a creative play zone, where children can take part in hands-on activities, mini science experiments and photo opportunities.
The full attraction is designed to last around 45 to 60 minutes, making it a well-suited outing for families looking for both fun and learning. Tickets start from Dhs 79 and are available through the Fever app or the Fever website. Timed slots can sell out — particularly on weekends and during school holidays — so booking in advance is strongly recommended.
