Dubai Municipality has released version 2 of the Dubai Building Permits app — known as Dubai BPs — an Android-based platform that provides services and information on building permits across the emirate. The new release introduces a range of enhancements designed to meet the needs of building owners, construction companies, and consultants.
New Land Plot Widget and Contractor Search
One of the headline additions in the upgraded Dubai Building Permits app is a new widget that displays extended data on land plots for building owners. The app has also expanded its search capabilities: users can now locate registered consultants and contractors in Dubai more easily, and can review the type and number of active projects each holds — a feature Dubai Municipality describes as invaluable for selecting the right partners on a project.
Dubai Pay Integration and New Licensing Services
Dubai Municipality has integrated Dubai Pay into the app, allowing building owners to complete all monetary transactions and pay permit fees directly from their smartphones. Two new service categories have also been added: annex licensing and requests for approved engineering plans — broadening the app's utility for the construction sector.
Comprehensive Information Hub for the Industry
The Dubai BPs app serves as a one-stop platform for Dubai's construction community. Depending on the user profile — owner, contractor, investor, or consultant — it delivers tailored information on basic services and regulatory procedures governing building and construction in Dubai. The app also provides access to legislation, laws, circulars, checklists, and a comprehensive directory of consulting offices and contracting companies.
Users can track all building licence transactions, view engineer notes, check applicable fees and charges, manage appointments, and access reports covering buildings, projects, transactions, and completion rates — all within a single application.
Supporting Dubai's Smart Construction Vision
The upgraded Dubai Building Permits app is part of Dubai Municipality's ongoing programme to roll out smart digital solutions that match international best practice. The authority says the enhanced platform is designed to raise the quality of building licence and control services, contributing to the development of a smart, sustainable, and advanced construction sector that strengthens Dubai's global competitiveness.
