Dubai Police established a dedicated Health Hub at the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025, offering athletes comprehensive medical, preventive, and rehabilitation services throughout the five-day competition. The facility is equipped with modern recovery technology designed to keep participants in peak condition between gruelling events.
Advanced Medical Support for Athletes
In partnership with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and Mediclinic, the Health Hub specialises in sports medicine and emergency care. Over the course of the event, the centre managed 90% of all medical cases on-site, handling 156 cases without the need to refer athletes to hospitals — except for advanced medical situations requiring specialist intervention.
Colonel Dr. Mohammed Al Haj, Director of Travel Services and Treatment Affairs, highlighted the shift in modern sports science: "Rapid recovery processes and advanced treatment methods have become essential to training and competition strategies." He noted that athlete care now extends far beyond physical conditioning alone.
High-Tech Treatments, All Free of Charge
The Dubai Police Health Hub offered a range of state-of-the-art recovery services to competing teams at no cost:
- Cryo and Infrared Therapy — targets inflammation, pain, and muscle cramps - Self-Massage and Stretching — restores flexibility and reduces injury risk - Ice Baths — accelerates muscle recovery and reduces swelling
Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Khaled Ibrahim Al Khayat, Director of Medical Operations, confirmed that all services were provided free of charge exclusively to teams participating in the challenge. In total, 978 athletes received recovery and rehabilitation support at the centre.
A Holistic Approach to Athlete Health
Beyond acute treatment, the Health Hub offered physiotherapy sessions tailored to each athlete's strength and endurance profile, along with nutritional counselling to support sustained performance throughout the competition.
The initiative reflects Dubai's broader commitment to advancing sports medicine at elite level events — ensuring that the UAE SWAT Challenge remains one of the most professionally supported tactical competitions in the region.
