Dubai Police is offering free car inspections at AutoPro centres throughout the UAE until August 31, 2024 — a timely initiative as vehicles are routinely left baking in the sun for hours during the peak summer months. The complimentary service is part of the 'Summer Without Accidents' campaign, launched by Dubai Police's General Department of Traffic to raise road safety awareness among all private car owners in the UAE.
What the Free Car Inspection Covers
Motorists can drive into any AutoPro centre across the Emirates and receive a comprehensive 10-point vehicle health check at no cost. The inspection includes:
- Belts condition - AC and air filter - Windshield washer fluid - Wiper blades condition - Battery health - Radiator hoses condition - Tyre pressure - Engine oil and coolant levels - Lights - Fluid levels
No appointment is necessary, and there are no charges for the inspection itself. If a mechanic identifies an issue, drivers are not obligated to have it repaired on the spot — they can choose any workshop they prefer.
Why Dubai Police Launched the Summer Without Accidents Initiative
Extreme UAE summer heat significantly increases the risk of vehicle failures that can lead to accidents. Tyres can burst under the pressure of hot asphalt, engine cooling systems are pushed to their limits, and batteries degrade faster in high temperatures. The 'Summer Without Accidents' initiative directly targets these seasonal risks by making preventative maintenance free and accessible across the country.
AutoPro operates 54 branches and more than 200 patrol stations across the UAE, including locations inside ENOC petrol stations, making it straightforward for motorists to find a centre nearby.
How to Get Your Free Vehicle Check
Simply visit the nearest AutoPro centre before August 31, 2024. No booking is required — drive in, request the free Dubai Police summer inspection, and a technician will carry out the full 10-point check. Dubai Police urges all private vehicle owners to take advantage of the service and help keep UAE roads safe this summer.
