Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the sale delivers discounts of up to 90% across more than 2,000 outlets citywide — covering everything from fashion and beauty to electronics and homeware. With Eid Al Adha just weeks away, both UAE residents and tourists are treating the sale as the ideal moment to shop for summer essentials and holiday gifts.
Tourists Extend Stays to Cash In on Dubai's Super Sale
The appeal of the Dubai 3-Day Super Sale extends well beyond the city's residents. Canadian tourist Martin Martinez had originally planned to check out of his hotel on May 29, but changed his mind after hearing about the massive discounts on offer.
"I nearly completed my shopping and had planned to go home, but my relatives argued that I should wait until after getting these huge discounts that Dubai residents often enjoy," Martinez said. He rebooked his flight to June 1 — and called the decision absolutely worth it.
On day one of the sale alone, Martinez spent more than Dh5,000, with nearly half that going toward fragrances. "I have bought over 20 bottles of perfume and I am sure I have saved over $1,200 (Dh4,407) on this particular item alone — my perfume budget is sorted until 2024," he said, already looking forward to his second day of shopping.
Eid Al Adha Shopping and Summer Essentials Drive Demand
The 3DSS has arrived at just the right time for residents juggling summer vacation planning with Eid Al Adha preparations. Dr. Aftab Hussain, a physician, noted that the timing draws out shoppers who might otherwise delay their purchases.
"More often, people prefer summer shopping since they can purchase appropriate clothing for summer vacation and the Eid festival," Dr. Hussain said. Despite a packed schedule of events and conferences, his family still managed to spend Dh2,000 during the sale.
Gift Buying a Key Driver for Shoppers Heading Home
Beyond personal purchases, gift buying is emerging as a strong motivator at the Dubai 3-Day Super Sale. Many shoppers are using the discounted prices to stock up on presents for family members abroad before heading home for the holiday period.
The combination of deep discounts, wide product variety, and the upcoming Eid break has made the 3DSS one of the most anticipated retail events on Dubai's shopping calendar — reinforcing the city's reputation as a world-class shopping destination.
