Dubai's Global Village is opening the gates on October 15 at 6 PM for Global Village Season 30 — a landmark 30th anniversary under the theme "A More Wonderful World." Three decades after its debut, the attraction is pulling out all the stops for an opening night that promises to be its most spectacular yet.
What to Expect on Opening Night
The celebration kicks off with the "Parade of the World," featuring Retumbar street drummers and representatives from all pavilions marching through the grounds.
At dusk, wing-suited skydivers will soar overhead trailing fire and light, followed by a dazzling laser show at Dragon Lake. The grand finale at 9 PM sees 600 drones light up the night sky forming a glowing "30," before the season's first fireworks display officially launches the anniversary season.
Brand-New Attractions at Season 30
Season 30 introduces a range of fresh experiences:
- The Dragon Kingdom — An immersive 11-room walk-through adventure set in the mythical world of Blackstone Hollow, where visitors solve puzzles, explore dark chambers, and help Ignis the last dragon reclaim his lost power. - Gardens of the World — A tranquil green escape located between the Egypt and Iran pavilions, offering a peaceful contrast to the energy of the main grounds. - The Little Wonderers at Carnaval — A multi-level neon-lit play zone packed with slides and climbing challenges for younger visitors. - Enhanced Dragon Lake — Upgraded with a new underwater screen and intensified fire effects for evening shows.
Expanded Dining and Cultural Spaces
Fiesta Street has grown to accommodate over 200 dining options, with a newly launched Dessert District for sweet-toothed visitors. Asia Boulevard has been redesigned to spotlight authentic cuisine and cultural diversity from across the continent.
Both the Sharjah and Abu Dhabi entrances feature redesigned arches, giving the park a refreshed look for its milestone season.
