His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended part of the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai — the world's largest gathering dedicated to the creator economy — underscoring the UAE's commitment to shaping a responsible and impactful digital media ecosystem.
Summit Overview: "Content for Good"
Held from January 9 to 11, 2026, the summit is organised by the UAE Government Media Office and hosted across Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future under the theme "Content for Good." The event brought together around 30,000 content creators from around the world, making it the largest global gathering focused on the creator economy.
The summit features more than 500 speakers — including global creators, CEOs, policymakers, and industry experts — with a combined audience reach of approximately 3.5 billion followers. Over three days, participants took part in more than 580 keynote sessions, workshops, debates, roundtables, and fireside chats across three core tracks: Economy, Content, and Technology.
Sheikh Mohammed's Message on Creator Responsibility
In a post on X, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the broader role of digital influence, describing content creation as both a responsibility and a mission. He said creators "play a vital role in driving societies forward, inspiring future generations, creating economic opportunities and contributing to a better future."
This year's edition placed strong emphasis on transforming content creation into real-world impact — encouraging creators to use their platforms to generate positive social change, moving beyond reach and engagement metrics toward measurable outcomes.
1 Billion Acts of Kindness Campaign with MrBeast
As part of this vision, the summit launched the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign in partnership with MrBeast, the world's most-followed YouTuber. The initiative is supported by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and the Varkey Foundation, and aims to mobilise creators and audiences worldwide around humanitarian action.
The campaign had already inspired more than 170,000 acts of kindness globally before the summit. MrBeast announced the top 10 most impactful content creators during the event, awarding them the opportunity to travel to Ghana to help build a village featuring schools and healthcare infrastructure.
Dubai's Role in the Global Creator Economy
The 1 Billion Followers Summit continues to position Dubai as a global hub for the creator economy, digital innovation, and responsible media influence — bringing together voices that are shaping how content impacts society, culture, and the global economy.
