Sheikh Hamdan affirmed that the UAE and Dubai continue to inspire innovation with exceptional legislative and regulatory frameworks, while Musk praised the UAE's forward-looking vision and expressed his wishes for continued progress.
Dubai Loop: The Underground Transit Revolution
The meeting also comes as Musk's companies deepen their footprint in the region. Earlier this year, Musk unveiled the Dubai Loop project at the World Governments Summit. The ambitious transport system will feature a 17-kilometre underground loop with 11 stations, capable of carrying up to 20,000 passengers per hour using electric vehicles travelling at speeds of up to 160 km/h.
Sheikh Hamdan has previously described the Dubai Loop as a project that will revolutionise urban transportation, aligning with the emirate's goal to redefine mobility both above and below ground. The Boring Company's system is expected to become operational in 2026 and will form part of Dubai's broader plan to expand smart, sustainable tunnel infrastructure across the city.
