The Sharjah Club Basketball Juniors Team clinched their seventh UAE General League Championship title for the 2023-2024 season, defeating Al Nasr Club 66-59 in the decisive final. The match was held on Sunday evening at the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club hall, marking a historic milestone for junior basketball in Sharjah.
Sharjah Claim Record Seventh Title
Abdul Latif Al Fardan, Vice President of the Emirates Basketball Federation, awarded the championship shield and gold medals to the victorious Sharjah team at the conclusion of the match. The Al Nasr Juniors received silver medals in recognition of their runner-up finish.
Talal Shaker, Supervisor of Basketball at Sharjah Club, presided over the medal ceremony, celebrating what is now the team's seventh General League Championship — a testament to the club's sustained dominance in UAE junior basketball competition.
Al Nasr Falls Short in Close Final
Despite the final margin of seven points, the contest was competitive throughout. Al Nasr's junior squad pushed Sharjah hard before the Sharjah Club Basketball Juniors pulled clear to secure the 66-59 victory and their place in UAE basketball history.
The 2023-2024 General League Championship title adds to Sharjah Club's already impressive record in the competition, reinforcing the club's position as a powerhouse in developing elite young basketball talent across the UAE.
