The encounter left a deep impression on both the young fans and onlookers. One child was so moved by the gesture that he shed tears of joy and embraced the President's hands in gratitude. The children then recited a poem in Sheikh Mohamed's honour, describing him as a dedicated and compassionate leader committed to the betterment of his nation. The President expressed his happiness at meeting them, engaging warmly in conversation with the young supporters.
Sheikh Mohamed Receives Al Ain FC at Qasr Al Bahr
The meeting with the young fans followed a formal reception on 8 June 2024 at Qasr Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the Al Ain Football Club team following their 2024 AFC Champions League victory. He congratulated the players, head coach, technical and administrative staff, board of directors, and fans on what he called a historic achievement — the club's second triumph in the competition.

Sheikh Mohamed commended the side's exceptional performance throughout the tournament, highlighting their high level of competitiveness and strong will to win. He expressed his appreciation for every effort that contributed to the team's success, noting that "any achievement by national teams enhances the overall reputation of UAE sports, particularly football, and inspires further sporting accomplishments in the future."

Al Ain FC claimed the 2024 AFC Champions League title, defeating Japan's Yokohama F. Marinos 5-1 in the second leg of the final at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium to win 6-3 on aggregate.
