Amazon has announced that its annual Prime Day 2024 sales event will take place on July 16 and 17, starting at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time in the United States. The sale is exclusive to Prime members and will be available in more than 20 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the UAE, and the UK. Prime members in India will be able to shop a separate Prime Day event held later in the year.
Invite-Only Deals Return for Prime Members
One of the standout features returning for Prime Day 2024 is the invite-only purchasing option. Amazon Prime subscribers can request an invitation for select products directly on the product page. Accepted members will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the purchase — a format designed for high-demand items expected to sell out quickly.
Early Prime Day Benefits Already Live
Amazon has begun rolling out early Prime Day perks for its members, including:
- Five months of free Amazon Music Unlimited for eligible subscribers - 15 weeks of grocery delivery trials from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and other participating vendors on orders of $35 or more
These benefits are available to Prime members ahead of the main event dates.
Prime Day 2023 Set Record Sales
Last year's Prime Day set a record for Amazon. US consumers alone spent $12.7 billion during the two-day event — a 6.1% increase over Prime Day 2022. Data from Numerator showed the average order value rose from $52.26 in 2022 to $54.05 in 2023, reflecting continued growth in shopper spending during the event.
What to Expect on July 16–17
The 2024 event is expected to maintain last year's record-setting momentum, giving Prime members access to deep discounts across electronics, fashion, household goods, Amazon devices, and more. Shoppers are advised to sign up for Prime before the event to access all deals and the invite-only purchasing options.
