The 53rd Eid Al Itihad ceremony was held at the National Theatre through the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace by Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. Other special guests included Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace and the President of the UAE Fatwa Council as well the diplomats and dignitaries.

Tribute: Riding the Dream of Sheikh Zayed

In his speech, Sheikh Nahyan remembered the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the country and his progressive leadership plan for the UAE.

Eid Al Etihad is an opportunity to genuinely thank the great uniter for the noble efforts of Sheikh Zayed. It is in recognition of these that we work to bring peace, love, and global harmony under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” said Sheikh Nahyan.

Promoting Peace and Tolerance

Echoing Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah stand; Eid Al Itihad is the best time to reconsider and renew the UAEs stance on tolerance. Reflecting on the decade-long journey of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, he noted:

“Over the years the Forum has been a reflection of UAE’s policy and has evolved into a symbol of tolerance across the world. That’s why it has given humanity a new concept of peace, putting its values on the agenda of priorities.

A Decade of Achievements

Within the ceremony, the Forum participants watched a documentary made based on the Forum’s accomplishments, based on the fact that the Forum was created in 2014. From the early excusive peace meetings to consolidating the UAE positions as the country of tolerance the Forum has been instrumental in transforming the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed into reality.

The 53rd Eid Al Itihad marked the commitment of UAE with regard to unity, tolerance and peace on the international realm.
