Doha, Qatar — Qatar Executive, the private jet charter division of Qatar Airways, has taken delivery of the world's first Gulfstream G700 aircraft, making it the jet's inaugural commercial operator. The milestone was announced in late May 2024, with commercial services on the ultra-long-range business jet set to begin in June 2024.
Qatar Executive Becomes First G700 Commercial Operator
Qatar Executive received its first two Gulfstream G700 aircraft in May 2024, with four more expected to arrive within weeks. The charter arm of Qatar Airways Group had signed on as the launch customer for the G700 back in October 2019, ordering 10 of the new ultra-long-range jets. Nine G700s will ultimately join the existing fleet of 15 Gulfstream G650 aircraft.
Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer highlighted the significance of the delivery. "Qatar Executive has been the first customer in the world to receive these modern aircraft," he said. "The G700 is set to take service in June, and we are honoured to be the first carrier to operate it for commercial use."
Gulfstream G700 Range and Performance
The Gulfstream G700 sets a new benchmark for ultra-long-range private aviation. With a maximum range of 7,750 nautical miles and a top operating speed of Mach 0.935, the jet can connect major global hubs in a single flight.

The aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and incorporates an advanced high-speed wing design — both of which align with Qatar Airways Group's environmental responsibility objectives. The first G700 was delivered on sustainable aviation fuel.
Cabin Features Designed for Elite Clientele
Inside, the G700's cabin is divided into four distinct living zones, including a private rear cabin with a fixed berth — giving passengers a true bedroom at altitude. The jet carries up to 15 passengers in a whisper-quiet environment thanks to the following features:
- 20 panoramic natural-light oval windows - 100% fresh air circulation, fully replenished every two to three minutes - An ionising cabin air system for improved air quality - The industry's lowest cabin pressure altitude for reduced fatigue on long flights - An advanced bespoke lighting system calibrated for passenger comfort
