Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental has officially opened its Kids Palace in Abu Dhabi — a fully supervised, three-storey children's facility nestled between the hotel's pool complex and its private beach on West Corniche Road. Designed as a miniature replica of the iconic palace itself, the venue welcomes children aged 10 months to 12 years with age-appropriate programs blending creativity, education, and play.
Four Zones for Every Age Group
The Kids Palace is divided into distinct areas so every child finds their level.
Fatima & Friends serves the youngest guests — infants from 10 months and toddlers aged 2 to 3 years. The area includes a toy kitchen, nap room, baby-changing facilities, reading nooks, and child-sized furniture. Caregivers accompany children here throughout their visit.
Falcon Adventures is the hub for older children aged 4 to 12. Parents can drop off (except children with special needs who are always welcomed with carers), freeing families to relax while kids explore arts and crafts, a music room stocked with guitars, synthesizers, and tambourines, dressing-up sections, hideouts, and bean bags. A giant spiral slide from the first floor is a firm favourite.
The Family Nest offers a comfortable lounge for all ages to unwind together, while Flutter Bites — the in-house children's restaurant — serves buffet and à la carte options, with lunch included in day passes.
Activities Built Around Five Pillars
Programming at Kids Palace centres on five values that define Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental: sustainability, art, culinary excellence, nature, and exploration.
Signature offerings include Birdly, a full-body virtual reality flight simulator that delivers lifelike wind sensations and motion-driven movement. Outdoors, children can swim, visit the beach, ride tricycles, and explore teepees. On Fridays, Manchester City skill sessions are held on-site.
From October, the facility adds cooking classes led by the hotel's own chefs, using farm-to-table concepts that connect children with where their food comes from. Gardening workshops, clay-making, and painting round out the creative calendar. Looking further ahead, the rooftop will host stargazing sleepovers once telescope installations are complete.
