Dog lovers in Dubai, this one is for you and your four-legged teammate. The Paw Power Challenge — Dubai's first dedicated dog obstacle race — is coming to Expo City Dubai on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Organised by Homegrown Feastival, the event challenges you and your pup to complete a 2.5km obstacle course together through Al Forsan Park, with the route winding past the iconic Al Wasl Plaza for a stunning nighttime backdrop.
What Is the Paw Power Challenge?
The Paw Power Challenge is a timed, dog-and-owner obstacle race covering 2.5 kilometres. The course is packed with water crossings, slides, climbs, and jumps — every section designed to test agility, teamwork, and pure canine enthusiasm. The main race kicks off at 6pm, with the full event running from 4pm to 11pm.
Race Categories
Four competition divisions keep the contest fair for dogs of every size:
- Small/Mini dogs — under 10kg (individual race with owner) - Medium dogs — individual race with owner - Large dogs — over 10kg (individual race with owner) - Teams — up to six people with one small/mini or medium/large dog
Entry Fees and Prizes
- Dhs 100 per individual participant - Dhs 50 per team of six - Free for spectators
Winners are determined by speed, with prizes awarded to the top three finishers in each category. Every participant — regardless of finishing position — receives a medal, refreshments, and a participation certificate. After crossing the finish line, dogs can cool off in designated paddling pools set up on-site.
More Than Just a Race
The event is designed as a full afternoon and evening out. The Race Village alongside the course features food and licensed beverage pop-ups, a market with pet accessories, treats, and services, plus live music. Pet First Veterinary Clinic will also have veterinary support on-site throughout the event.
Looking to add to your family? Al Mayya K9 will be present, giving attendees the chance to meet — and potentially adopt — dogs in need of loving homes.
