Looking for an adrenaline rush that will push your limits? The Ice Warrior Challenge is back at Ski Dubai this September, and it is calling on everyone who dares to put themselves to the test — including those who have not been active in a while.
Ski Dubai, located inside Mall of the Emirates, will host the 15th edition of this iconic extreme obstacle race on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Registration closes on September 19, 2024, so you will want to sign up sooner rather than later.
What Is the Ice Warrior Challenge?
The Ice Warrior Challenge at Ski Dubai is one of the UAE's most demanding endurance events — a purpose-built obstacle course designed to test your strength, speed, and mental grit, all inside a real snow arena set to -4°C.
Participants navigate 20 to 22 difficult tasks spread across a 3.5 km track. Expect to climb walls, slide down nets, run on ice, roll and crawl through tubes, and plunge into frigid water. Additional obstacles include a maze, rope climbs, wheel jumps, pole climbing, and horizontal ladder swings — a full-body challenge from start to finish.
Who Can Participate?
This frosty adventure is open to anyone aged 15 to 60 years. The event is divided into three categories to suit different fitness levels:
- Elite — Dhs262.50 per person. Designed for athletes aiming to finish in under 25 minutes. - Individual — Dhs220.50 per person. Adaptable to all fitness levels, this is the standard category for solo competitors. - Team — Dhs194.25 per person. Groups of five compete together to complete the course.
The race kicks off at 6:30 AM, and every participant receives a timing chip and race number upon arrival.
What Do Finishers Receive?
Every athlete who completes the Ice Warrior Challenge earns a commemorative medal and an Ice Warrior T-shirt, presented when they return their timing chip at the finish line. It is a well-earned reward after conquering one of Dubai's toughest obstacle courses.
