The General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening public safety and deepening cooperation between the two government entities. The Dubai Civil Defence Awqaf Foundation MoU formalises collaboration on expertise-sharing, risk prevention, and the adoption of advanced safety practices across the emirate.
MoU Signatories and Objectives
The agreement was signed by Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence, and His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation.
The partnership is designed to increase cooperation in formulating and executing solutions that improve safety levels and prevent risks, while reinforcing Dubai's position as one of the safest cities in the world.
Enhancing Fire Prevention and Safety Standards
Lieutenant General Al Matrooshi said the agreement "marks an important step in terms of enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Dubai and in harnessing advanced technology to ensure their protection and safety."
He highlighted that the partnership will deliver meaningful advances in fire prevention, firefighting capabilities, and broader safety measures across Dubai.
HE Al Mutawa added that the MoU sets a clear path toward achieving stringent safety benchmarks, particularly for buildings and facilities managed by the Awqaf Foundation. He noted that the collaboration aims to harness the involvement of stakeholders and advanced technologies to position Dubai among the world's leading safe cities.
Facility Tour and Cooperation Briefings
Following the MoU signing, an AMAF delegation toured Dubai Civil Defence's facilities, including the main operations room, the readiness room, and the Marhaba customer service centre. Officials received briefings on the department's modern telecommunications infrastructure, call centre services, and ongoing inter-agency cooperation projects focused on improving public services and maintaining high security standards.
