Russian automaker Lada is set to open its first UAE dealership in 2025, with AvtoVAZ president Maxim Sokolov confirming the timeline in an interview with TASS. The launch hinges on completing the required UAE car safety certification, which the company aims to finalise by the end of 2024.
Lada UAE Dealership: What Sokolov Confirmed
"The next year will be dedicated to re-equipping and further opening of the dealership," Sokolov said, adding that Middle Eastern partners have taken the entire Lada model range for testing.
The owner of the planned UAE dealership has already visited the AvtoVAZ factory in Tolyatti, Russia, where a dealer agreement was signed. The visit underlined the seriousness of the commitment on both sides.
Sokolov stressed that certification is a mandatory step before any car can go on sale. "Every new car we enter needs recertification," he explained. "As we have introduced Lada to the UAE market, certifications need to be updated soon, as there are changes in electronics, controls, and security systems across all models."
AvtoVAZ's UAE Distribution Network
AvtoVAZ has already established two distribution partners in the UAE. One will handle supply to neighbouring countries and Africa; the second will sell directly in Dubai.
Sokolov expressed confidence in the stability of Lada's presence across most UAE markets, signalling that the Russian brand views the Emirates as a strategic foothold for wider Middle East and African expansion.
Why the UAE Matters for Lada
The UAE represents a high-value export market for AvtoVAZ as the company expands beyond Russia. The country's open trading environment and its role as a regional logistics hub make it an attractive launchpad for Lada sales into Africa and across the Gulf.
With certification on track and a dealer agreement in place, the first Lada UAE dealership is expected to open its doors in 2025.
