H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, personally honoured more than 60 recipients at the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Educational Excellence ceremony, underscoring his belief that excellence and innovation in education are the essential foundations of progress and economic growth.
Education as the Engine of Growth
Sheikh Saud stated that education is the single most important tool for transforming Ras Al Khaimah into a knowledge-based and competitive economy. Speaking at the ceremony, he said quality enhancement in education raises the standards of both individuals and societies, establishing firm reference points for the long-term continuity of present and future generations.
"The increase in investment and improvement of education, and its competitive index for the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah, is the primary priority of educational development — a locomotive of the country's all-round development and a guide for economic investments in educational reform and nation-building," Sheikh Saud said.
Innovation and Best Practices
The RAK Ruler also called for the adoption of best practices and policies drawn from leading countries worldwide, as well as the promotion of innovation and creative-thinking programmes. Encouraging such initiatives, he said, motivates the youth to sustain a spirit of innovation and generate new ideas that define the future.
About the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Educational Excellence
The Ras Al Khaimah Award for Educational Excellence was launched in 2014 to build a culture of appreciation for educational innovation across the emirate. The award helps educational institutions apply the core principles of international quality standards and inspires teachers, students, and all participants in Ras Al Khaimah's educational process to pursue excellence.
More than 60 schools, principals, educators, parent councils, and students received recognition at the ceremony for their outstanding contributions to education in the emirate.
