The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has issued the official Ramadan 2025 UAE work hours for all government ministries and federal entities, setting a reduced schedule to balance productivity with the spiritual demands of the holy month.
Official Ramadan 2025 Work Schedule for UAE Public Sector
Government employees at ministries and federal entities must adhere to the following hours during Ramadan 2025:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The circular was issued by FAHR and applies across all UAE federal government ministries and entities under its purview.
Flexible and Remote Work Options Permitted
Federal entities may implement flexible working schedules and remote work arrangements during Ramadan, provided all active shifts fall within the officially approved daily hours of service.
Up to 70% of an entity's total staff may work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan, in line with existing UAE government regulations on flexible work.
Why Reduced Hours During Ramadan?
According to FAHR, the adjusted schedule is designed to "guarantee public sector productivity through solutions which support worker spiritual and social requirements during Ramadan."
