UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed condolences to Morocco's King Mohammed VI on the passing of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa, who died on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
UAE Leaders Offer Condolences to King Mohammed VI
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, a close friend of King Mohammed VI, conveyed his personal sympathy alongside the UAE's official condolences. "I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to King Mohammed VI of Morocco and his family on the passing of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa," he said.
Senior UAE Officials Join in Mourning
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also paid his respects to the Moroccan monarch and people. "Our condolences to the Moroccan people and to King Mohammed VI on the death of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa," Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, further expressed the UAE's sympathy to King Mohammed VI during this period of national mourning in Morocco.
About Princess Lalla Latifa
Princess Lalla Latifa was the wife of the late King Hassan II of Morocco and the mother of King Mohammed VI. She passed away in Rabat on June 29, 2024, and a private funeral was held the same day at the Moulay el-Hassan Mausoleum. Her passing prompted an outpouring of condolences from heads of state and world leaders across the globe.
