The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) joined the nation in celebrating UAE Flag Day on November 3, 2024 — an annual occasion that holds deep significance for Emiratis as a symbol of patriotism and loyalty to the nation and its leadership.
MoFA Ceremony in Abu Dhabi
The flag-raising ceremony at MoFA's headquarters in Abu Dhabi was led by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, who hoisted the UAE flag at the main mast. He was joined by a senior delegation of officials, including:
- Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State - Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State - Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State - Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Under Secretary of MoFA - Assistant Ministers overseeing international organisations, resources development, international trade and investment, health and human resources, and security and safety of citizens
The event brought together ministry personnel in a collective display of national pride.
A Nationwide and Global Observance
UAE Flag Day is observed in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who mandates that the national flag be flown across all federal and government establishments each year on November 3.
Beyond the UAE's borders, embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions around the world also participated, flying the UAE flag to mark the occasion. Ambassadors and consuls used the day to remind the international community of the UAE's founding principles: unity, pride, and a steadfast commitment to national development.
Loyalty, Sovereignty, and National Progress
Participants used the ceremony as an opportunity to express their patriotism, pledging to defend the sovereignty of the country and to uphold Emirati cultural values. The flag-raising stood as a clear signal that UAE citizens and officials remain united in their commitment to the country's progress, guided by a shared sense of purpose and positive energy.
