Dubai is set to host one of the most significant creator economy events of the year as the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 returns from January 9 to January 11. The fourth edition of this UAE Government Media Office gathering brings content creators, digital entrepreneurs, media leaders, and platform executives together under the theme Content for Good — with storytelling, artificial intelligence, monetisation, and creator-led business growth at its core. More than 30,000 attendees are expected across three packed days of talks, workshops, and curated sessions.
Event Dates and Venues
The summit runs across three consecutive days at some of Dubai's most recognisable landmarks. Programming is hosted at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, the Museum of the Future, and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Each venue hosts a mix of keynote stages, panel discussions, workshops, exhibition zones, and dedicated networking areas. The multi-location format allows different themes and sessions to run simultaneously, giving attendees maximum flexibility throughout the schedule.
Speakers and Sessions
The speaker lineup draws from entertainment, business, and digital media. Headline names include Will Smith, MrBeast (the world's most-followed YouTuber), Lara Trump, and comedian Max Amini. They will appear across keynote sessions, panels, and live discussions during the summit. Additional speakers include entrepreneur Simon Squibb, Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar, and former footballer Rio Ferdinand.
The agenda also features creators with global and regional reach: Khalid Al Ameri, Omar Farooq, Ammar Kandil of Yes Theory, and Alexandra Hirschi, widely known as Supercar Blondie. In total, the programme spans more than 580 sessions covering artificial intelligence in content creation, monetisation strategies, audience growth, platform trends, brand partnerships, and creator-led ventures. Combined, the speakers represent a total following of 3.5 billion across platforms.
Key Initiatives at the 2026 Summit
Several flagship initiatives form part of this year's programme. A $1 million AI Film Award, developed in partnership with Google Gemini, recognises excellence in AI-generated filmmaking — over 30,000 participants from 116 countries entered, with five films shortlisted for the final showcase.
The Creators Ventures Programme introduces an AED 50 million funding pool aimed at supporting content-driven startups. Organised by Creators HQ in collaboration with 500 Global, the accelerator received 1,131 applications from more than 70 countries. A dedicated SME Pavilion will feature tools, platforms, and services tailored for creators and digital businesses, while networking lounges throughout the venues encourage interaction between creators, brands, investors, and platform leaders.
MrBeast and the summit also launched the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign in partnership with MBRGI and the Varkey Foundation, inviting creators worldwide to document acts of kindness on social media. The names of 10 creators selected to join MrBeast in leading this global social movement will be announced during the event.
Dubai at the Centre of the Global Creator Economy
The 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 positions Dubai firmly at the heart of global creator economy conversations this January. With its multi-venue format, sold-out attendance, and high-profile lineup, the summit offers a wide-ranging programme focused on content, technology, and creator-led growth. As creators and industry leaders gather in the city, the event sets the stage for three days of discussion, learning, and collaboration tied directly to the future of digital media.
