The digital channels work internationally, which is a major convenience for anyone abroad who needs documents processed without a return trip or a visit to a UAE embassy in person.
To be eligible, documents must carry a modern verification feature such as a QR code, reference number, or barcode. Personal documents and other eligible papers that meet these requirements can go through the system.
How the Process Works
The Ministry cut the process significantly. What used to require eight procedural steps and two separate procedures is now three steps and one unified procedure.

1. Log in using your UAE Pass digital ID. 2. Select "Attestation in the UAE," then choose "Digital Documents" under the document type category. 3. Fill in the document details, select the UAE embassy in the destination country, and submit.
Once submitted, both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant UAE embassy in the destination country handle the attestation. During the pilot phase, the Ministry confirmed the process takes approximately two hours during official working hours. Up to five documents can be submitted per application, with attestation fees calculated per document. A third party is also permitted to submit on behalf of the document owner.
