Ajman University is introducing a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence — a programme designed to produce the next generation of AI professionals in the UAE. Commencing in Spring 2025, the 123-credit curriculum spans eight semesters, blending foundational theory with advanced AI methodologies to equip students for one of the fastest-growing fields in the global economy.
A New AI Degree Shaped for Industry Needs
Ajman University Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir said the launch reflects the institution's core mission. "The launch of the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence underscores Ajman University's steadfast commitment to delivering cutting-edge, practical, and industry-relevant academic programs that meet the demands of an ever-evolving world," he said.
The programme is built around progression — students move from foundational AI concepts through to advanced methodologies, with continuous emphasis on real-world application. Graduates are expected to enter the workforce as AI engineers, machine learning specialists, data scientists, robotics developers, or intelligent systems architects, filling both technical and managerial roles.
Programme Highlights
- Comprehensive curriculum: 123 credit hours spread across eight semesters, covering AI fundamentals and advanced techniques. - Mandatory internship: A 16-week industry placement gives every student direct workplace experience before graduation. - Broad career pathways: Positions graduates for roles across AI engineering, data science, robotics, and intelligent systems — at both technical and leadership levels.
Positioning Ajman as a Regional AI Education Hub
The new undergraduate AI degree builds on Ajman University's existing postgraduate AI offerings, including a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence that has already produced multiple cohorts now working in leadership roles across public and private organisations.
The launch also aligns with the UAE's broader ambition to become a global centre for innovation and advanced technology. Ajman University is ranked number one in the UAE for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and places among the top 51–100 institutions globally in the discipline, according to QS Subject Rankings 2025.
Students entering in Spring 2025 will be prepared to reshape how businesses and societies harness artificial intelligence — making this a significant milestone in the region's AI education landscape.
