In his announcement, Sheikh Hamdan said:

What Is ICCV 2029?
The International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) is organised by the Computer Vision Foundation and sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Held every two years at a different global venue, it is widely regarded as one of the most influential academic and industry conferences in the field of AI and computer vision.
ICCV 2029 is scheduled to run from 2 to 6 December 2029 at the Dubai World Trade Centre — the first time the conference has ever been held in the Middle East.
Dubai's First ICCV Hosting Rights
Winning the ICCV 2029 bid is a significant milestone in Dubai's technology roadmap. The city's innovation-friendly environment, world-class infrastructure, and strategic location between East and West made it a compelling choice for the Computer Vision Foundation's selection committee.
The conference will bring together leading researchers, engineers, and policymakers to set the direction for the next generation of AI and computer vision technologies. For Dubai and the UAE, it is a direct expression of the national strategy to position the country as the AI capital of the world.
Strengthening the UAE's AI Ambitions
Dubai's selection to host the ICCV 2029 computer vision conference aligns with the UAE's broader push to attract global technology talent and investment. Events of this scale generate significant knowledge transfer, research collaboration, and economic activity — reinforcing Dubai's standing as one of the world's premier destinations for technology and innovation.
