For the first time, six global companies — G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank Group, and Cisco — have come together to launch Stargate UAE, an AI compute cluster set to transform Abu Dhabi into one of the world's leading artificial intelligence hubs.
What Is Stargate UAE?
Stargate UAE is a 1-gigawatt AI infrastructure cluster being built on the UAE–US AI Campus, a newly established site in Abu Dhabi that offers 5 gigawatts of total data center capacity. G42, OpenAI, and Oracle will launch the first 200-megawatt deployment of the cluster in 2026, building on the existing collaboration between the companies in the UAE.
The campus spans 10 square miles, making it the largest AI deployment ever attempted outside the United States.
The US–UAE AI Acceleration Partnership
Stargate UAE is the flagship project within the US–UAE AI Acceleration Partnership, a bilateral framework dedicated to developing safe and secure AI infrastructure. It marks the first international expansion of the Stargate initiative, which was originally launched in the United States with the goal of supporting independent national AI infrastructure.
The partnership was announced during President Donald Trump's visit to the UAE in May 2025, and is coordinated with the US Government.
Technology and Infrastructure
The cluster will be powered by NVIDIA's Grace Blackwell GB300 systems, the most advanced AI computing hardware currently available. Cisco will provide secure, zero-trust AI-ready networking, while Oracle will supply optimised cloud services. SoftBank Group brings worldwide operational support to the initiative.
The system is designed to enable:
- Real-time data analysis at scale - AI model training across multiple industries - High-performance computing for healthcare, energy, education, and finance
Science Park and Sustainability
Beyond raw computing infrastructure, Stargate UAE includes a science park aimed at fostering scientific research, growing local AI talent, and achieving sustainability goals. The campus will draw power from a mix of nuclear, solar, and natural gas sources.
Industry Leaders React
Senior executives from across the partnership praised the scale and ambition of the project.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, called the announcement a bold achievement. Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle, described it as "a new milestone for digital sovereignty," adding that the deployment "sets a new standard for how nation states can harness the power of the most important technology in the history of humankind."
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, said: "AI is the most transformative force of our time. With Stargate UAE, we are building the AI infrastructure to power the country's bold vision — to empower its people, grow its economy, and shape its future."
UAE Cements Its AI Ambitions
As a result of this landmark partnership, the UAE is firmly positioned as a major force in global artificial intelligence. With Stargate UAE underway, Abu Dhabi is not just a regional technology hub — it is becoming a central node in the world's AI infrastructure.
